How to Customize Your 404 Page

It happens, sometimes you remove or alter a URL so you may have a broken link floating around. This is where the 404 page comes into play. A 404 page is a landing page that tells your site viewers the page is unavailable or maybe doesn’t exist. So instead of using Squarespace’s generic 404 pages, create a unique 404 page that shows off your personality!

  • The page never existed.

  • The URL is broken.

A visually interesting and user-friendly 404 error page helps visitors navigate somewhere else on your website. By curating a page with links and other information, you’ll keep the viewer on your site for longer when they hit a wall.
